Dan Bruggeman's art is landscaping with a man-made item in the artwork. He basically takes a photo in nature with some sort of man-made item, such as, a building, a rollercoaster, or a car. My drawing shows man-made and nature worlds colliding by having a mountain and tree, during fall, with a factory in the background. I got my idea from one of the settings in the book "Red Queen" by Victoria Aveyard. I think the place I drew has been damaged from the fumes/smoke coming out of the factory, I tried making the tree look worn down and maybe a little dead, to show how many factories affect nature.

A thinking drawing is a sketch. Thiebaud uses thinking drawings to come up with ideas for his final artwork, and it helps him figure out interesting and dynamic compositions. He uses the same object but he plays around with sixe, color, diversity, amount, and position. On the right side the ties are hanging so you can see mainly the front, on the left side Thiebaud switched it up and made the ties face the left and front, so you can see more angles of the ties. I think he separates it to show how you can make an artwork more interesting and unique if you just switch up the angles and use repetition.
My artwork is an observational drawing of the first time I ever got a medal and the last time. The first one is from 2010-2011, and the second one is from 2018. My artwork is called "Every Beginning has an End". I created my artwork by sketching my medal and trophy on a piece of paper, then I went over it with ink and pen. I decided where I wanted my medal to go. At first I thought I was gonna make it look like there was a spotlight shining down, but I later decided to go with a light blue background. After I did the ink and pen I colored in the medal string then I painted the background. My artwork shows a personal "issue", I started figure skating when I was 3 and my mom took me out of it when I was 12, because of all the driving and the cost. My goal for this artwork were to venture out to new materials. I tried ink and pen, and a paint pen. My other goal was to be able to finish my artwork and get around mistakes... or happy accidents. My happy accident was that the water color wouldn't go over the paint pen, so I took the paint pen and hit it against my palm to make small splatters and dots. I learned that positioning and lines mean a lot when it comes to observational drawings and 3d drawings. I also learned that water colors can' t go over a paint pen. The artwork isn't exactly what I thought it was going to look like, but I'm happy with how it came out.
